Crushed it

Josh and I crushed this weekend.

CRUSHED IT.

Saturday morning I got up and did my last long run before my half marathon next weekend. I ran 16 slow, torturous, depleted, irresponsible kilometers. But they’re done. After that we headed to my office to help move it! We open at a new location tomorrow which is pretty exciting! The downside is I am no longer a 4 minute walk away from home, so I won’t be able to visit the doggies at lunch, and I will have to pack my food. The good news is I will eat less peanut butter on toast as a meal due to my incessant hunger and lack of planning. 1 point for more vegetables in my future.

After the move, we ended up going to a friend’s place for dinner last minute, and then we went bowling! At the bowling alley I continued to prove that you cannot teach bowling skills like mine.

I’m talking 43 points by my 8th turn…..WATCH OUT.  …..I’ve never been so bad at anything in my life.

I am pretty good at making stupid faces though, so I excelled in the photo booth portion of the bowling event. But I didn’t quite excel the way Josh did.

Screen Shot 2014-10-26 at 9.59.18 PMThis morning, we got up, got groceries and started meal prepping like champions. Like I said…there are now lunches to be packed! We basically just grabbed meat, because this week Josh and I ordered our first produce bag from Grand River Organics!  It is a bag (or box) of fresh local/organic seasonal produce that you can order weekly as part of a farmers co-op!

It’s a fun surprise to see what veggies you are going to get, and then it’s a fun game to try and EAT THEM ALL. This week we got carrots, tomatoes, red pepper, red skin potatoes, spinach, onions, apples, cabbage and Boston lettuce. We only picked the bag up on Thursday and we have used just about everything already!  If you live in Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph, Milton, Cambridge, Burlington, Oakville or Hamilton (Ontario, Canada), you need to check this out! ….you better write me down as your referral. #freeveggies

That right there my friend’s is my future packed lunch. Commuting and packing lunches like regular people…not into it.

In addition to crushing it in the kitchen, we also cleaned up our entire backyard. It was crazy. We have not raked the leaves once this fall, and we also have two apples trees that make a freaking MESS. Not to mention two doggies doin’ their business. We filled THIRTEEN yard waste bags. We also had a solid workout carrying those bags full of apples to the curb, let me tell ya. And now I am finishing up my second load of laundry.

CRUSHING IT.

Except it is passed my bed time.

So I gotta go.

  2. True story: I’ve always wanted a crock pot (I know I know, it’s like what… twenty bucks?) but I’m afraid of everything being overly cooked + mushy, or completely under cooked. I’m so dumb with easy stuff!

  3. Your long run may have been irresponsible and depleted but AT LEAST YOU WENT ON ONE. I can’t even explain how LAZY I am these days. It’s ridiculous. I may die this weekend but I’ll least I’ll have to there to drag me to the finish…right?
