Run on it

My laptop is about to kick the bucket…it wouldn’t let me upload any pics for a few days and suddenly today it said I could. Cool. Thanks, laptop.

Training has been going just okay. Nothing hurts too bad, but nothing feels right. I don’t know how else to explain it other than it is some weird achy/burny, muscle-twitchy feeling in my calves and shins. In no particular place. Just everywhere. I feel like I’ve been experiencing some strange evolution of pain. Trying not to get too worked up over it, but I’m getting my runs done (slowly) so whatever!

Had a great weekend of family/friends and SUNSHINE last weekend. Saw some babies, did some running, walked some doggies. I even managed to pull myself together on two hours sleep on Sunday morning to catch a 7AM BUS to my parents’ place. I was pretty proud of myself, hence the selfie I had to send to my friends as proof I did it after our late night out. Champ status.

1. I DID IT. 2. Baby Lachlan! (one of my old housemates’ baby boy!) 3. Winslow can’t take the heat hahah poor chubs. 4. My niece Ayla putting on a show because no one can get enough of her.

This week has also been pretty eventful! Last week, Josh and I stumbled upon a house listing that we really liked, even though we haven’t really been looking to buy a house right now. Next thing I knew, we had a real estate agent, a “pre approved” mortgage (if that’s a thing?), and then, last night, we were over looking at the house! Josh and I chatted for a couple hours after the viewing, and eventually came to the conclusion that we would make an offer today. Our agent said he would have an offer drafted for 8:30 this morning.

…but then I woke up at 6am in a panic, with the urgent sense that I need a good old fashioned thinking run. I hopped out of bed and hit the pavement, music free. Why is it that running just makes everything seem so obvious? I ran for 40 minutes or so before I blasted in the door at 7am telling Josh I wanted to call our agent and tell him we changed our mind, hahah. We have gone back and forth all day, but when I go over all the points I came up with on my run as to why I no longer wanted to make an offer, it all makes so much sense again. Does that happen to you? It’s kind of like “sleeping on it” but instead “running on it.” It’s like a sped up version of sleeping on it! Josh agreed and we are back to being content renters (for now!).

Somehow it’s already THURSDAY tomorrow and we still don’t know what we are going to do this weekend. Perhaps we will head to Josh’s cottage! The drive is pretty long, so we are undecided, as I don’t get a long weekend this weekend, womp.

ANYWAY! Enough blabber.

Bed time for me!

Talk soon,

  1. Isn’t Josh’s cottage the one where you have to take like 14 boats to get to?! Haha!
P.S. you look so tan. Jealous.
