Happy 2014!

Oh hay girls hayyyy (and boys…?)

Happy New Year!  I hope you all had wonderful holidays! I was on vacation from December 20th through January 1st, and it was GLORIOUS. It flew by because it as jam packed with family activities, but it was so much fun. Here’s some stuff that happened!

1. I re-ombréd my hair because I was totally brunette and therefore looking totally pale…not in a Snow White kinda way.

 2. These idiots loved life together all day every day.  That little guy in the back, Riley…not as interested in doggy play time hahah.

3. I watched all 8 Harry Potter movies in approximately 72 hours. Fun fact: I used to be a giant Harry Potter nerd. It subsided over the years, but not enough to stop me from having dreams about Voldemort or from buying my niece this onesie.

4. My Lululemon addiction persists, even though I know the founder is  giant idiot. Yes, my thighs rub together, and yes, I still wear your pants. And yes I want to stop, BUT I CAN’T. Anyway, so these pants came up in one of the Tuesday “What’s New” emails that ruin my life on a weekly basis, and I bought these that day. Apparently they sold out completely within a few hours. I wanted to exchange them for a bigger size, but the only place I can find them is on eBay for $150-$250!!! WHAT THE. People pee me off. Yes, I am aware that this is a first world problem. Anyway, I may just keep the size I have. p.s. this is a skinny mirror, I am not this tall nor this thin. Not complaining, just stating facts. I do, however, have a bed head as severe as pictured.

And 5.  …damn, I gave some well dressed gifts.

Anyway!

For some reason, this year I am far less excited about resolutions than I was last year. I didn’t do too poorly in 2013, although I surely didn’t hit every goal. I DID manage to hit the goal that was most important to me, which was running a sub 1:50 half, which I did in November. The other biggie was running my first full marathon in May.

I’m a little marathon fairy!

This year my goals are going to be much more general, for the most part.

As far as fitness goes, my main goal is just to work on my speed and strength train consistently.  I don’t think I will be doing any full marathons this year, the longest distance I am considering is Around the Bay 30k in March.  I need to decide on that ASAP, as I’m sure it will be sold out really soon! Other than that, I would like to run a few half marathons, and hit 1:45 before the calendar hits 2015! What I am most excited about is hopefully running SeaWheeze in Vancouver in August! Weeeeee!

Can you say nervous smiles?

ATB 2013

As far as blogging goes, I obviously want to start blogging more. I really just think I need to get excited about it again, and to do that, I am hoping to get a serious blog makeover, and I plan to start incorporating other things that I love such as beauty product reviews, more recipes, fashion, that sort of thing. I might lay out some sort of schedule for myself just to keep things on track!  This will come with time, I don’t need to throw extra stress on myself by trying to make it happen overnight. But I am not quitting my blog, I swear! If anyone has contacts for someone who can help with the makeover part, send them my way!

Tomorrow is the first official day of kicking my butt back into gear. Clean food, a sugar detox, and sweat, sweat, sweat!  The weather here has been crazy, but my gym isn’t far. I need to find my inner TrulyJess and just suck it up and trek through the blizzards! I’m feeling good about it!

Happy 2014 friends!

Danielle

I hope your 2014 rolls out as smoothly as you’re laying it out- can’t wait to see what you have in store.
Oh, and can’t wait to meet you, in person, Saturday! HEYO.
