Halfway there!

We’re already halfway through the year…PARDON?

Well…I guess it’s time to check up on those goals I set in January!

I said that in 2013, I would:

  • Track all my running mileage! Treadmill, road, race, everything. Even the little 2km runs to and from the gym that I never give myself credit for. I wish I had done this from the first time I ever hit the pavement.

So far this is a 100% fail. Haven’t tracked a mile. …DAMNIT.

  • Master the unassisted pull-up.

I can now do 1! Also, my gym has JUST TODAY posted a sign for a pull-up challenge to practice over the next 8 weeks to reach your goal. I’m getting all up in that.

Back muscles you better Man Up.

  • Do a handstand pushup, off the wall. Just 1, because that is badass.

I forgot about this but I definitely need to start practicing!

  • Plank more often. I don’t foresee any #plankaday action in my future, but I don’t see why I can’t work up to a 10 minute plank.

Definitely planking more often, but not for extended periods of time. I need to challenge myself here for sure.

  • Run Around the Bay 30k

Done!

  • Run a marathon (in sub 4:20 would be nice…)

Done! (minus the sub 4:20 part…)

  • PR in the half-marathon (sub 1:54:59)

In the works! I even have  a SUPER LEGIT new running coach! Stay tuned! SUB 1:50 I’M COMIN’ FOR YA. There, I said it.

After I hit my current PR! (November 2012)

  • Book and prepare for a fitness photo shoot (paid for by myself).

Booked!

  • Build up my personal training business and boot camp franchises, until I am self-employed on a full time basis.

Working on it! Website up!

  • Read more books! At least 1 per month.

FAIL AND A HALF.

  • Obtain a nutrition certification 

I registered for Precision Nutrition, but then pulled out due to financial reasons. Still on my radar though.

  • Learn some basic web design so I can make my own life easier.

Coincidentally, I was just looking into this tonight! I WANT A BLOG MAKEOVER, DAMNIT.

  • Blog 3x per week, minimum!

FAIL. Not because I don’t have time, but because I need not bore you. I really do much of nothing in my daily life, hah.

Not too shabby! Part II, let’s DO IT.

  1. Ahahaha I was thinking of doing a “check-in” post as well! I’m scared to go back and see what all my goals were though lol. SHIT. I think there was something to do with push ups and pull ups in there…

    At least we still have six months…right?!

  2. good on you for being able to do an unassissted pullup. it took me months to be able to crank one out.

    i’ve started doing handstand pushups as well and man, those are hard! i can only do 6 at the most before my arms give out.

    and i hear you on the struggling with blogging thing. work has been so busy for me that i just haven’t had time at all!

      Thank you!!!! You can! I just got a $20 pullup bar from Winners and a $20 strength band from a fitness store and voila! Assisted pull-ups anytime! It’s on a door on my way to the washroom so I just practice when I walk by!
