Run with me!

Hi friends!

If you’re in Ontario and are looking for some races to do this summer, how about the Toronto Yonge Street 10k on April 21st?

I will be running with the Girls on the Run and Digital Champions teams! Girls on the Run Ontario still has some spots left on their team, and everyone is welcome to join us. Check out the event page here!

As a bonus for fundraising, the first 10 people on the team to raise $300 will receive free race entry as well! We’re hoping to raise a total of $15,000, so that all the girls on the wait list are able to join the program. These funds will cover their $139 program fee, allowing all girls to participate, regardless of their family’s financial situation. For more information on GOTR, check out my last post on this fantastic organization!

In other news, if you don’t follow me on Instagram, yesterday I posted a “Transformation Tuesday” photo. I don’t usually share these pictures (I even have them all on lockdown on my FB), but lately I had noticed that some of my clients seemed to think what I have comes easy; that I was always tiny and in good shape. I wasn’t. I was never huge, but I was entirely sedentary and probably ate fewer vegetables a week than I do now in a day, or even meal. I still struggle most days, I’m always working at it. But everyday I have a chance to continue making the right decisions, and for the most part, I do.

Before, in 2006 I believe, at my worst vs. a recent selfie.

The last random thing that I wanted to share was my current vegetable obsession. Not that I can really be obsessed with vegetables, but I always seem to eat the same one over and over and then I get sick of it, and pick a new one. Right now broccoli slaw has won my heart, because all you do is put it in a bowl and add dressing (I add EVOO+balsamic+lemon juice).

Sorry for the blurry pic I was starving, hah. Definitely pick this up on your next trip!  Hopefully it doesn’t have any human feces in it…yeah.

What’s your fave vegetable?

Favourite summer race?

Thanks for sharing the pics, you are a huge inspiration to me to keep going with the weight loss and especially to keep running!

    • Awwww, thank you Vanessa! I wish I was in Vancouver too, TRUST ME, haha. I LOVE it there! Hope you have some races planned for the summer! 😉

  2. I just came across your blog! How inspiring! I live in small town in ohio (U.S.) and the weather is always crappy. I might have to just run outside tommorrow instead of inside after seeing your snow running pictures! Also interested in your shoes, how long did it take to adjust. I have the merrill pace gloves but havent broke them in yet. Thanks!

      Thank you!

Do it! Running outside is the best!
It took probably around 8 months (with a Canadian winter in the middle). I literally had to start back at 0km– my first run in them was probably about 700m! Take your time! Totally worth it though!
