It’s Wednesday?

How did that happen? I have been really busy with work this week. Things are a little cray-zayy. I know it’s already Wednesday but here is a weekend update anyway!

Friday night was pretty uneventful, I stayed at my parents house while Josh headed up to his cottage. Saturday my old university friend/housemate Michelle picked me up and we made the big drive to Kingston for our friend Jane’s birthday! Back in university we lived in a house with 6 girls– 5 of us were all together again this past weekend! This is a very rare occurrence now that we are all scattered about the province, so it was really something to look forward to. Jane’s lovely sister Emily hosted us at her apartment and we had a DELICIOUS (and clean!) barbecue on the rooftop (thanks to Ruth and Rob, Jane and Emily’s parents!) by the water. Holy romance, it was so lovely. We drank champagne (and possibly played flip cup with said champagne….), played with some Canada Day sparklers and enjoyed each other’s company.

The next morning, packed lunch in hand (thanks Jane!!) another old roomie, Jen, graciously drove me to a train station on her way home where Josh met us so I could head up to his cottage for the last night of the long weekend.

grilled chicken sandwiches in princess baggies!!

The weather was beautiful, we did some boating, sunbathing and relaxing before heading back home on Monday night. Did some fox-watching, too 🙂

After a long drive home we collapsed on the couch!

Canadians I hope your long weekend was equally wonderful and Americans I hope your day today was also lovely!

OH and one last thing I had to share…Emily’s amazing asparagus container.  You just add water and store it in the fridge!  HOW GENUIS IS THIS?  No more bowls of water! NEED!  Maybe I will hunt it down when I can eat asparagus again…I seem to have OD’d for the time being, hah.

Do you have any cool kitchen tools?  I love a good creative kitchen toy!!
