Delicious Rawlicious

Hi guys!

Didn’t get my arms and abs workout or my run in today because Josh and I were at his parents’ house for the weekend. Josh was writing an actuarial exam this morning out there.  I figure I will squeeze it in another day this week no problem, will just need to double up on a day or two.  This afternoon Josh and I went to meet our friend Ericka for lunch.  We checked out this awesome raw/vegetarian/gluten free/dairy free/refined sugar free restaurant called Rawlicious!  It was so good.  We started with the nachos to share, which were made from flax and things (I think) and they were served with toppings on the side so you could decorate each nacho!  They came with guacamole, fresh salsa, dairy-free “sour cream” (made from cashews I believe), olives, peppers, and green onions.  Delicious!  Unfortunately we devoured these before I could snap a picture!  Then for our meals we had…

We were so impressed we had to go ahead and try dessert…or like, all the desserts…

We were pretty full when we left but at least we knew we were full on clean food! Rawlicious has a few locations in Ontario now, and one opening in NYC, so definitely check it out if you are near one!

I have been a bit off track with my eating and water intake lately, as we have been travelling from city to city for our exams and whatnot.  My water intake has been horrendous actually.  Tomorrow I am going to get back to batch cooking and eat as perfectly as possible until our trip on May 4th!  Speaking of our trip– I am trying to figure out what to bring with me.  Our wonderful and lovely host, Andrew, has a nut allergy– peanuts and tree nuts, so I can’t take anything with nuts.  This means no almond milk, no nut butters, no QUEST BARS! Even Cinnamon Roll Quest bars have nuts!  I’ve tried to research decent bars that are nut free but they seem to be full of sugar/carbs and not very high in protein.  I think I will make some of Jamie Eason’s protein bars (with coconut milk instead of almond milk) and I will take some protein powder and some Love Grown granola (simply oats flavour only), but other than that I’m not sure!  Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

  1. I love Rawlicious!! Where are you headed on vacation? I suggest hitting the grocery store when you get there and stock up on local goodies, lots of fresh fruit, some greek yogurt, eggs + veg! For snacks you could have savi seeds! They’re not a nut and they’re super high in protein!

    • Vancouver for 2 days then to Victoria for 6 days!! I will definitely be hitting up the grocery store!
