Peanut Butter Banana Chocolate Chip Egg-White Oats

Today was LiveFit Day 66.  I managed to do my workout PROPERLY today!  I just found out yesterday that when Jamie says to do sprints at “Level 8,” she most certainly did not mean at 8mph (like I thought…).  She actually meant to do the sprints at an 8/10 effort, so it is a different pace for everyone.  So for the past week and a half (5 sprint sessions!) I have been doing my sprints at 8.5! BAH!  I always felt it wasn’t “sprinty” enough, but figured she had a good reason for keeping us at that pace.  NOPE!  So today I upped it to 10mph and oh boy, now those were sprints!  I can’t wait to start doing them outside.  Today is BEAUTIFUL and would have been a good day for it, but I wanted to make sure I was running fast enough and the treadmill ensures that.  So instead I will take the pooch for a walk to pick-up Josh from work!

Now..on to the important part.  FOOD!

I eat oatmeal in one form or another everyday for breakfast, and this is my FAVOURITE way to eat them.  I always combine them with egg whites to get my morning protein in.  Take note I absolutely cannot stand the taste of eggs in any form and I promise you cannot taste them in this!  Sorry for the not-so-great photo, I actually took it because I was so excited, not because I had my blog in mind, hah!

Peanut Butter Banana Chocolate Chip Egg-White Oats

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup quick oats, dry
  • 2 tbsp PB2 (powdered peanut butter)
  • 5 egg whites (I use the ones in the carton)
  • 1/2 ripe banana, mashed
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar-free mini chocolate chips

Directions

1.  In a microwavable bowl, combine oats and PB2, mix well.

2.  Add egg whites, mix and microwave for 1 minute.

3.  Add mashed banana and almond milk, mix well. Microwave for another 1-1.5 minutes.

4.  Remove from microwave, stir and sprinkle sugar-free chocolate chips on top.

5. NOMS.

Plugged everything into calorie count and I got:

412 calories, 9.7g Fat, 54.5g carbs and 30g protein!  I think this is a bit off (as in high), but close enough!

  1. I ‘m not up to the sprints yet, but I would’ve never known she meant level 8 instead of 8 mph. Good to know! I’m not a huge fan of eggs either so I usually hide them 🙂 This looks great!
